About Michael...
Michael Holman is a South-West based photographer and designer, with experience in many aspects of the creative field. He operates from a studio just outside Bath.
His photography has included studio and location - fashion and portrait right through to crawling on hands and knees through mud for a natural history shoot, and he seems equally happy directing a model, waiting for that perfect cricket shot or quietly cursing the animal that, after hours of planning and patience, still hasn't put in an appearance!
More recently Michael has also started to offer tuition in digital manipulation and post-production, from basic workflow ideas right through to complex image alterations. He feels strongly that while these areas are essential to the modern photographer, they should be used with understanding and - what a lot of people seem to forget - restraint.
Qualified originally in Design at Plymouth followed by a multidisciplinary MA at Kingston, Michael has a passion for everything creative and has found, in photography, a fascinating way of exploring the world.
When he's not glued to the viewfinder, he plays cricket (all-rounder - equally bad at every aspect), fences and tries to win pub quizzes.
